Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil, born on July 12, 1988[1], is a Canadian performer and actress. O'Neil was the first Canadian woman to win Canadian Idol's third season in 2005. O'Neil is a well-known actress for her roles in Syfy's science fiction series Dark Matter. O'Neil was well-known for her role in The Rookie as Officer Lucy Chen. O'Neil was judged in the bottom two and three of the finals. After being shocked, judges advised viewers to vote Melissa as the most vocal contestant. O'Neil's performance was consistently praised and O'Neil did not fall back to the bottom 3. Zack Werner, the judge, declared O'Neil "a threat to win everything". O'Neil as well as Rex Goudie made it to the top two spots of the contest on September 7 the 7th of September, 2005. After yet more impressive performances, Werner declared that "The King [Kalan Porter] is dead and long live the Queen". O'Neil defeated Goudie during the grand finale results shows on September 14, 2005 , to win the title of Canada's third Idol.
