
Alexandra Rose Raisman was born May 25, 1994. She is a retired American artist gymnast. She was captain of both the 2012 and 2016 U.S. Olympic women's gymnastics teams. In the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she was awarded a gold medal in the team competition as well as teammate Gabby Douglas the sole Americans who have won back-to-back team gold medals. Raisman also earned silver in the individual all around and for floor exercise. Raisman won silver medals for the all-around for the individual as well as for the floor exercise. She was also two-time national champion in floor exercise (2012 and 2015) and was the national champion in balance beam in the year 2012. She was also five times a medalist at the national all-around championships (silver, bronze, 2010 2011, 2012 and 2015). She was inducted into International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame (2013).
