
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is captain of San Diego Wave FC. She was also co-captain for the United States women's soccer team from 2018 through 2020 alongside Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][9The 9 Morgan was chosen as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. There, she made her debut in professional football and was a part of the team's success in winning the league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time and one of the youngest players on the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. She scored the match-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final game during the 2012 London Olympics. She was the second player in the United States with 21 assists and 20 goals in 2012, which made her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring athlete in the nation to achieve 20 goals in a single year. She was then named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan has also played a role in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which included her on the Dream Team for both tournaments and also won the Silver Boot in 2019.
